FACT: This specialist collection is set in the home and working estate of Jane Austen’s 3rd brother.
FACT: The Chawton Estate has been closely connected with the Knight family since the early 16th century.
With unique collection of early women’s writing, Chawton House Library focuses on promoting the study and research of women’s writing. They also protect and conserve the Elizabethan house and grounds and maintaining a rural English working manor farm.
